Victoria’s Secret Inspired Makeup

Hands up who loves watching the Victoria’s Secret Catwalk Show every year? Such a guilty pleasure! It personally heralds the beginning of the festive season for me as it airs the first week of December and usually sees me wrapped up in cosy PJs venting my frustration at those inhuman body goals with a large bar of chocolate and tea. But it isn’t all confidence knocking, for there is one aspect that really inspires me every year. The amazingly fresh, flirty and glowing makeup! For essentially, I am all about the glow. And luckily, this is one thing we can all appropriate easily, and without hours at the gym.. Although a better diet would probably help things along…but it’s Christmas, and all that. Keep reading to see my take on the VS makeup for this year.

Monthly Favourites: November 2015

I’ve done it again. I’ve went and spent a small fortune on myself when I should really be saving and planning ahead for Christmas! Damn instant gratification and online shopping. Unfortunately this month’s favourites are predominantly on the expensive side of the spectrum, but if any of them make your want-list don’t forget to drop hints for Santa. I’m actually very pleased with these purchases since I’ve been trying to really improve my skincare regime and I think I have the beginnings of a very good routine in place. Anyone else been overly indulgent in this area or have some suggestions?

Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil Review

It’s very rare that I will say this so brashly but – GO AND GET THIS PRODUCT. Just kidding. Kind of. So the Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil has been marketed as more of an oil than a lipgloss formula, a fairly unique and novel concept which appealed to me a lot considering my pout has been hopelessly dry since Winter began. It retails for £18 and comes in two shades, Honey and Raspberry, however both are ultimately clear on the lips so it is the scents you are choosing between. I picked Honey as it has a beautiful nectar-sweet aroma and looks like liquid gold…

Cranberry Cat-Eyes

I recently picked up the Sleek ‘Storm’ i-Divine Eyeshadow Palette which is a really affordable and suuuuuuper pretty set of deep winter colours. This was my first dalliance with Sleek Cosmetics and I will definitely be going back for more – a palette of twelve extremely wearable eyeshadows with great pigmentation for £7.99? Yes please! This post will be a quick look I threw together while dabbling with my lovely new colours. I’ve went for a cranberry shade blended through the crease, a gold shimmer patted along the inner corner, and a jet black cat-eye flick to create a look perfect for the upcoming festive season!

October Favs

Winter is coming! Now that we have finally gotten Hallowe’en out of the way I can be utterly justified in lighting my Christmas-themed candles and eating as much Quality Street chocolate as humanely possible, who’s with me?! October has been a rather experimental month for me in regards to make up and other purchases, with a few items creeping onto my bank statements that I wouldn’t normally opt for. Before I jump right in however, I want to say a major thank you to you all for putting up with my sporadic posts lately due to coursework commitments. Your lovely comments keep me smiling! So without further ado, here’s everything that I’ve been obsessed with throughout October…

Tips and Truths For Starting University

September has shown its face, and with it has come the usual hustle and bustle of going back to school or starting university. Having just graduated in July, and enrolling again to study for a Masters degree, I consider myself something of a university veteran! So for all you newcomers I have compiled a little list of advice learned and pictures taken from my time over the last three years. I should state in advance that this is based upon a UK university experience which involves a lower drinking age, the Student Loans Company, different grading systems and no mention of American sororities/rushing!
